Distinction between Labor and Machine Hours
In this article
On the production floor, tasks are done using both machines and people operating these machines, both can have a different cost.
This document describes a solution to plan and charge both types of costs to production orders.
Setup
On the Manufacturing Setup page, New parameters are introduced:
Parameter | Description | Initial value |
---|---|---|
Starting Operation No. | Coding of the first operation in a automatically created parallel routing | |
Starting Operation Type | Can be "Work Center" or "Machine Center" | Work Center |
Starting No. | Code of the Work Center or Machine Center to define in the first task | |
Ending Operation No. | Coding of the last operation in a automatically created parallel routing | |
Ending Operation Type | Can be "Work Center" or "Machine Center" | Work Center |
Ending No. | Code of the Work Center or Machine Center to define in the last task |
Execution
Planning multiple resources on one task:
For example, the production of a product is done by a machine, operated by 2 workers, one of the workers assists with setting up the machine and the first production stage, the other stays with the production until the end.
In standard Nav, this can be setup via a parallel routing
When using these kind of routings, both machine and labor can be planned, scheduled and will consume capacity. Only downfall is that the creation of these routings is complex.
On a serial routing, personnel can be attached.
Manufacturing Accelerator provides the possibility to define other production resources as personnel (work- or machine centers) and to define setup and run time.
A function is provided to create a parallel routing, based on a serial routing with personnel attached.
The function will create a parallel routing version that can be used in production.
When this routing is certified, I becomes the standard routing for production.
Note
The routing version code is calculated from the No. Series, defined in the routing header. If however, a parallel routing exists that is not closed, and marked as Automatic Created, that routing code is used.
Posting both labor and machine costs to one task:
On the output journal 3 new fields: Labor No., Labor Setup Time and Labor Run Time are introduced, they reflect the time recorded by the operator that has run the main task.
An output journal with these fields filled in will create a second output journal line to post the labor, the result will be 2 capacity entries
