Routing Status “STOPPED”
In this article
In order for a production order to be finished, some operations need to be performed. In order to track progress, each operation uses it own status, which can be updated manually or automatically depending on posted output journal lines
The following statuses already exists:
- Blank
- Planned
- In Progress
- Finished
An additional status could be useful to indicate that an operation is temporarily stopped for production. The status Stopped is added to this option list.
When a task is marked as "Stopped", it will follow the same logic as the "In Progress" status during planning and capacity calculation:
- Move dates accordingly
- Capacity will be kept
Note
When output is booked through an output journal or production journal on this task, the Boolean will be unchecked. The field “Stopped” is also available on the Work Center task list and the Machine Center task list.
Setup
No additional setup is needed for this functionality.
Execution
We added the new field on the following three pages:
- Production Order Routing
- Machine Center Task List
- Work Center Task List
This field is by default unmarked, so when the user wants to use it. He needs to mark it himself.
When we stop a certain production order, we see that the status of the linked Machine Center or Work Center is also automatically changed to status Stopped.
For example, we stopped a machine center and a work center for the Production Routing No. XXXXXX.
For the respective Machine and Work Center, we see that the status of both is changed to "Stopped".
When a line on the Production Order Routing has the status Stopped, the starting date and ending date should move accordingly.
When we change the date to 3 days later, we see the dates are moving accordingly for the Work Centers and Machine Centers of this Production Order Routing.
The capacity should be kept, when a production order routing has the status Stopped.
The original situation isn’t different from the situation when we changed the status to “Stopped”.
When changing the Production Order Capacity Need, we see that the changes are done accordingly.
