Simpflified purchase planning
In this article
Planning proposals can be somewhat confusing for some customers, because the planning algorithm used in Microsoft Business Central, balances demand and supply in time.
Some customers do not need this level of complexity and just need a flat and simple calculation: Shortage=Supply-Demand-Safety Stock
Formula is designed as follow : Shortage = Saftety Stock Qty. (Item Card) + Qty. on Sales Order + Qty. on Service Order + Qty. on Assembly Component + Qty. on Production Component – Item Inventory – Qty. On Purchase Order – Qty on Assembly Order – Qty. On Production Order
Note
Safety Stock from SKU is not taken in the calculation of the shortage.
If the Shortage is less than 0, the quantity is entered as a line in the Requisition Worksheet. The proposal date is the earliest demand date.
