Enhancements on the Standard Cost Worksheet

The standard cost worksheet is a tool to change the standard cost of semi-finished and finished products.
We made the following changes in the worksheet, these will be more explained in the execution tab.
- New batch creation based on number series.
- Extra fields are created on the batch Starting Date and Status.
- The worksheet will be changed in status after applying the new standard costs.
- The worksheet lines serve as a history of standard cost changes
- Provide a standard cost field on the item card, so we have the possibility to show all the lines from the standard cost worksheet for that specific item.
Setup
We need to add a number series in the Manufacturing Setup for the standard cost worksheet Nos
- Choose the icon, enter Manufacturing Setup
- Goto the Numbering FastTab.
- Enter the Number series on Standard Cost worksheet
Execution
We will now go through all the possible functionalities within the standard cost worksheet:
- Choose the icon, enter Standard cost worksheet
- Create a new Batch, when making a new batch, you can see Business Central will follow the No. series we put in the manufacturing setup.
- On this page standard Cost Worksheet Names, the new fields Starting date and the Status are added.
- Choose the batch and close the page with OK.
- Execute the standard Business Central functionality Suggest Item Standard Cost and/or Suggest Capacity Standard Cost.
- The system will suggest all the standard costs for the components and for the routings when both functions were executed.
- The status of the worksheet will now change to In Progress
- Prices can be adjusted by changing the New Standard Cost. >[!NOTE] >Those price changes are only used for further calculation in this worksheet.
- After checking the purchase prices and workcenter or machine Cost price is the following step is to execute the roll up of the standard cost. In this step the standard cost of production items is calculated based on components and the routing cost.
- Last step is to implement all the standard cost lines from the standard cost worksheet.
- On Ribbon select Implement Standard Cost Changes. On this page you need to select a revaluation journal and journal batch were you want to implement the standard cost lines in. The batch will be executed by pressing the OK
The cost are now updated and the revaluation journal has also been created.
Note
The revaluation journal is not posted automatically, this is a manual process.
The status on the batch is changed to Applied
Note
- Changing the status to Closed is not automatically following any process, this is a manual task.
- When the status manually is changed to Closed, no modifications in this batch are longer possible.
