Translation Table

In standard NAV, some tables have a translation functionality, like for example the Units of Measure table.

However, most tables do not have a built-in translation functionality (translation subtable). That’s why Business Central Accelerator provides a generic translation table in which all desired fields from all desired tables can be translated in the desired languages. Report layouts can then be modified to include the translations.

Setup

  1. Choose the search icon, enter Translations
  2. Choose the New action. In the Table ID column, choose (via the dropdown) the table you want to translate
  3. In the Table Name column, the Name of the table is automatically filled in
  4. In the Primary Key column, choose (via the dropdown) the record you want to translate (e.g. a specific G/L Account like 6100, or a Country Code like BE)
  5. In the Field ID column, choose (via the dropdown) the field for the record you want to translate (e.g. the Name)
  6. In the Language Code column, choose (via the dropdown) the Language for which you want to add the translation
  7. In the Translation column, type the desired translation
