Legacy Item No.
When installing a new ERP-system, most companies take the opportunity to clean the master data from their old system, called the legacy system. One important set of data that is cleaned in this process are the items and defining a new codification is part of that. Since only one code is available in standard NAV, the old Legacy Item No. is lost when going for a new codification.
NORRIQ XL provides the possibility of a secondary item no. or Legacy Item No. that can be used throughout the system, next to the new codification.
Setup
- Choose the icon, enter Item.
- Open an Item.
- Choose the Business Central Accelerator fastTab. Specify the Legacy Item No. in the No. 2 field and confirm with OK.
- Add column No. 2 in the Item list.
- You can see that the Legacy Item No. is displayed.
- Open the Item again.
- Choose the Related action.
- Select Item and Item References.
The Legacy Item No. has also been added as a Cross-Reference for the item.
Execution
The Legacy Item No. can now be used in sales and /or purchase orders, invoices, credit memos etc.
This can be done in two ways outlined underneath.
- Choose the icon, enter Sales Order.
- Choose the New action. Create a sales order in the normal way (or a sales invoice, sales credit memo, purchase order, purchase invoice, etc.).
- Create a line of type Item.
- From the Item No. field, it is possible to filter for the No. 2 field by clicking this column in the drop-down list and search for the Legacy Item No.
- Furthermore, it is also possible to lookup the item directly by the Legacy Item No. in the Cross-Reference No. field. After the pop-up opens, click the Legacy Item No. and it is placed on the sales order with both the correct Cross-Reference No. as well as the correct Item No.
