Apply Template Function
Creating a new customer, vendor or item can be a time-consuming activity. A lot of setup fields on the customer, vendor or item card are often determined by the choice of just a few other fields.
That’s why Business Central Accelerator provides a functionality that fills in the desired fields on the new customer, vendor or item card based on the template that is chosen.
Setup
- Choose the icon, enter Customer Templates, Vendor Templates, Item Templates or Employee Templates.
- Choose the New action.
- Fill in the desired values on the fastTabs.
- Repeat this for all desired templates that can apply to new customers, vendors, items or employees.
In case a new customer needs to be created using a customer template, do the following step:
- Choose the icon, enter Customers.
- Choose the New action.
- Choose a Template.
- On the Customer Card, fill in the fields as necessary. The same functionality applies to vendors, items and employees.
Note
Configuration templates are still available to help with developer, data migration, and integration scenarios. However, we recommend using the new customer, vendor, item, and employee templates instead. If you don’t want to use one of the proposed templates, just press the close button in the top right corner. NAV will then open an empty New Customer/Vendor/Item/Employee Card. .
